About

I have been teaching seventh grade at Mountain Gap Middle School since August 1998. Before working at Mountain Gap, I taught eighth grade at Ed White Middle school for five years. Our family moved to Huntsville in December 1992 from the St. Louis area where I had been a teacher since in 1976.

My family includes my husband Allen and my two daughters, Meghan and Shannon. Meghan and our son-in-law Justin live in Daphne, Alabama, and they have two little boys, two-year-old Bridger and baby Taplin. Meghan teaches third grade in Mobile. Shannon and our son-in law Nathan live here in Huntsville. Shannon is a graphic designer and works for a local contractor, and she also has started her own business, Shannon Miller Creative. The youngest member of the family is Louie, the pug. He is a character and keeps everyone laughing.

Besides my work at Mountain Gap and spending time with my family, I enjoy reading, blogging and exploring on the Internet, shopping, playing Bunko with my teacher friends, and sewing. I am a quilter and always has a several projects under way.
